In straight-up harmony with the Chorus.Do, do, do . . . ahhhhh . . . ” The melodic notes of the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus fills the entire practice room inside of St. John’s-Grace Episcopal Church on Colonial Circle. “Ahhhh, ahhhh.”
The artistic director, 30-year-old Ciaran Krueger, moves his hands about, working hard at keeping the rhythm to Gloria Gaynor’s disco classic “I Will Survive.” The choir follows his every lead, breaking where he signals them to pause and adding inflection where he tells them to emphasize a note.
It’s LGBT poetry in motion, and Krueger — a straight man — is the master lyricist.
