A Thursday Night In Buffalo
Pretty Soon ( but not soon enough ) The temperature will warm up and Thursday in the Square will start having bands again this year.  The patios will open up and the bars will begin to fill.   I thought i would wander around at least a few of the Buffalo Gay Bars on a Thursday night,  to get a preview of what to expect this spring and summer.  Over all, the city crowds in the Chippewa zone were running slow - plenty of parking around only a few people seen walking around.  It could be that everyone is planning on going out this Saturday night for St Patrick's day.

My first stop was at Miss Kitty's,  it was early, only 11pm, but they had a really good band playing live.  It was very laid back, comfortable atmosphere and the band seemed to just add that extra touch.  They have live bands every Thursday and just about the most intimate, close place in the city to have them.   I didn't stay long, although i wanted to, it was that relaxing, but i wasn't planning on a late night and had other bars to visit.  A stop over to Q was next on my list,  ok, it was a little bit too crowed for me, but they have some of the best looking customers and bartenders around.  The people all seemed to know each other and talked in little groups.  Next stop was Cathode Ray.  The bar had a nice crowd, Steven was behind the bar,  so you knew the drinks were good.  A few were shooting pool and some new music videos were shown on the TV's.   Adonia's was next.  they were having a karaoke night, and the guy singing was great, and cute plus.  Adonia's is such a nice bright looking bar, and somehow seems cozy and warm.   Their crowd hadn't come in yet but the bar area was full and the bartenders busy.  And honestly that guy had a really good voice ( and everything else ).   On to Marcella.  They have a Dj night, trying to bring new and sometimes famous Dj's for a night of dancing.  It's not really a gay or straight night.  The crowd hadn't really begun coming in yet. it was only about 12 am.  They play a lot of new music that i hadn't heard yet.  It's a good way to hear new music and see a lot of very cute guys and a lot of girls.  They were probably straight but eye candy is nice.    Since I had to get up the next day. I decided to end the night at Roxy's and make a few videos of their StripTeasers.   The crowd was very mixed and had the energy that the Roxy environment promotes.   It was like they didn't want to sit still, they just wanted to party.  I personally think it was Julia playing the horny-est music that got people going.  Roxy's calls it bringing sexy back, I call it bring horny back.  When the show began the crowd circled the stage area.  The show was really fun, and I guess i made a new life long best friend from years ago.  I took some video, with permission, that turned out a bit dark, but it will give a good idea, what the show is like - and show you my new friend.   Next time - Underground and Buddies.

A BENEFIT for Officer Patricia A Parete & Officer Carl E. Andolina

A BENEFIT for Officer Patricia A Parete & Officer Carl E. Andolina was held at Club Marcella on Friday December 15, raising $6,132.  Friends, family  and Buffalo Police co-workers were prominent in their support.  The 3 local News stations all reported live from inside the club.  The Food and raffle items were donated by Prima Pizza, Holly Farms, Sue's Deli, Melony's Sweets And Grecthen at Miss Lutions.  A special thanks goes to Joey Marcella for arraigning the benefit, supplying his club and his people and 3 hrs of open bar.  The leading members of the Buffalo Gay Community came out in support of this event.  As pictured above: Julia from Roxy's, Dave from Buddies II, Joey Marcella from Marcella And Roz from Miss Kitty's.   The Buffalo Mayor and government leaders were very noticeable in their absence, as were several of the smaller Gay bars and organizations. The Buffalo police supply a life or death service protecting the downtown nightlife in Buffalo.  Those who appreciate and applaud the gallantry of these two officers were present.  -A few Pictures HERE

Buffalo Place wants to close all the bars at 2am
Due to a man was grazed by a bullet last Sunday morning and a 16-year-old boy was seriously wounded when he was shot in the head in late October   Buffalo place wants all the bars to close at 2am.  Buffalo Place Inc. is the not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the economic health and  quality of life in Downtown Buffalo. Buffalo Place activities are partially  funded by special charges paid over and above property taxes within Downtown’s Special Charge District. Any amendment to change the closing time for bars require action by the Erie County Legislature.

Watch how you dress
Most of the bars in downtown Buffalo in co-operation with the city are preventing anyone entering their bars in any attire even coming close to gang colors.   The Gay bar owners want and will have a safe and secure club   No Bandanas, No Do Rags.  The Buffalo police are also watching.   Also a reminder that a car trunk is more secure and less visible place to keep you coats, purses or anything else, you don't want to take in a bar.
